Tennis (Courts Bookable by Members Only)

We all know that taking part in any kind of sport is important for your mental and physical health and a great way to socialise, exercise and meet friends. As well as building up your fitness, it's also a lot of fun!  FLTC is the perfect place to begin your tennis adventure or to take it up again after a break. We  have four fantastic tennis courts - including one with carpet and three with floodlights. There is also a knock-up wall for individual practice.

Thinking of joining FLTC?

If you'd like to become a member, please contact our Membership Secretary, Madeleine, on 07837 911569 or via email. If you'd like to try us out first, just let Madeleine or a committee member know and come along to one of our Club Sessions (see times below) to meet us and get a feel for the club. You can have three trial sessions for free before deciding whether or not we are the club for you. If you are new to tennis or feeling a little rusty and would prefer some coaching before joining in with Club Sessions, give our coach, James, a shout and he will soon have you swinging with confidence! See the Tennis Coaching webpage for details.

Member Benefits

As a member of FLTC you will be given access to our tennis courts and clubhouse. Courts can be booked without additional charges. We also provide balls and floodlighting all inclusive of the membership fee and when you are at competitive league standard, you can put your name down to play in one of our teams. Courts are booked via our ClubSpark Bookings app. Please note that only members are able to book courts. Members are entitled to reduced rate coaching. See the Tennis Coaching webpage for more details.

Club Sessions

Adult members are welcome to join our mix-in Club Sessions. These are very informal, friendly sessions, usually playing doubles. We swap partners regularly and make sure everyone is included so that if the courts are full, nobody will be left waiting too long.  This is an excellent opportunity to meet and chat with other members. You'll be made welcome, whatevery your skill level. Just come along and play.

We love to play with our junior members too and encourage them to mix-in. However, for safety reasons, we ask that all junior members are informally assessed prior to joining in with Club Sessions. It's a simple process and only takes a few minutes. Please contact James or a committee member for more information.

Club Sessions are held on Tuesday and Friday evenings from 6 30 pm + Wednesday and Sunday mornings from 10 am

Competitions and Matches

We run various tournaments and competitions throughout the year. The club also enters teams in the Aldershot and District Leagues in winter and summer.

Want to bring a friend?

We ask that all players are fully paid-up members but if you wish to bring a friend along as a guest, we make a charge of £5 a session with a maximum of three visits per guest per year. Anyone wishing to play as a guest in excess of three sessions a year must have special permission and pay £10 per session. Members are responsible for the conduct of their guests at all times.

A Few Rules!

Health and Safety: Everyone must take appropriate measures to protect themselves and others at all times. This applies equally in respect of individual preventative measures (eg medicines) and in respect of complying with any current Covid or other health rules. We have a medicine cabinet with basic supplies and a defibrillator - both located in the Clubhouse. Any accidents must be recorded in the accident book on site. We advise all members to become familiar with the whereabouts and use of the defibrillator.

Security and on-court rules: We encourage members to take pride in the club and to respect other members at all times. We follow the basic LTA rules for our tennis matches. A simplified copy of these is given to new members along with a few requests of our own - mainly provided as a courtesy to other members.

Please do not give our court or clubhouse access codes to any third party; we ask members to wear appropriate clothing for playing tennis including non-marking tennis shoes; glass must not be taken onto the courts; smoking/vaping is not permitted anywhere close to the courts or in the clubhouse; take your litter home or use the rubbish bins and lock up the courts after use; the clubhouse door should be kept properly closed at all times, even when you are on court; please turn off all lights, including floodlights, after use, and leave the clubhouse in a clean and tidy condition; if you book a court and find your plans have changed, remember to cancel your booking.

We thank you for following these rules and requests. Full details are given to all new members and are on the clubhouse noticeboard.
