Tennis Coaching

We have a very professional young coach called James Vass, that undertakes all the coaching at the club. He does a fantastic job in motivating and helping the kids to develop their skills. He is equally as good at getting returning players back into the ‘swing’ of the game. All the sessions are fun and energetic, especially the ‘Drill Sessions’.

If you think you, or a family member, may be interested in having some coaching, please just come along at a time listed below, when we will be present to answer any questions you may have. Alternatively, you are more than welcome to contact the coach, James Vass directly, to ask questions or book a meeting.

Mini Coaching

Mini Tennis offers the perfect introduction to the sport for children aged 3-10yrs. The use of smaller courts, nets and rackets and lower bouncing balls, allows Mini Tennis enables players to develop vital skills and techniques at an early age, whilst having lots of fun.

There are four stages of LTA Mini Tennis; Tots, Red, Orange and Green, each with their own court size and type of ball.

Junior Coaching

The Junior Squads programme offers players aged 11 and over a variety of sessions graded by ability, where players can build on what they have learnt through the Mini Tennis programme.

These sessions vary from fun orientated sessions, to more intensive training sessions where players will be able to develop their technique and tactics, as well as the physical and mental side of the game. Players in this programme will be encouraged to enter junior competitions and tournaments as well as team competitions.

Holiday and Half-term Tennis Club

We run a tennis club and activities for children aged 5-15yrs, which is an exciting feature in many kids summer holiday schedules.

The club runs daily throughout the school holiday period and is held from 10am to 3pm.

From day one, the children are continually assessed on ability and age to guarantee they are in the right groups. Therefore they will receive the correct level of tuition to improve their skills.

For more information on our Tennis Clubs programme, please email the Coach and he will send you everything you need to know.

It is great fun and we look forward to perhaps seeing you there!

Table Tennis Coaching

At Farnborough Table Tennis Club coaching and training is delivered by Colin Baggott.

He is one of Table Tennis England’s licensed coaches, and has obtained his UKCC Level 1 qualification. Colin has many years of experience with the bat and has a lot to offer the children. He has his DBS certificate, sports first aid training and has been on valuable ‘safeguarding children’ courses.

We run regular coaching sessions for children on a Friday night from 6.30pm – 7.30pm.

The sessions are for children who are complete beginners all the way through to children that have played before, or for those who simply wish to improve their game.

Table Tennis is for all ages, and can really benefit the kids. It is a fun and fantastic outlet for their boundless energy, and also helps them with the discipline of learning a sport, and the social interaction of the game.

The cost is £3 per session, the first 3 sessions are free with the use of training bats, which we provide.

If you have any questions speak to Colin Baggott on 07727 200 280, or why not come down on a Friday night and see for yourself. You can speak to any member of the team.

We look forward to seeing you…
