Site Report

As of September 1st we are waiting for drier weather to allow Court 3 to be repainted. It has been cleaned ready.

The Club wishes to thank Peter Harrington for the very professional job he performs in mending and maintaining the court netting and surrounds.

The Club also wishes to thank Patrick Mullins for the non-stop job he performs of keeping the courts clean and free of debris.

Table Tennis

The new table tennis season starts on September 15th. The final of the club Handicap Tournament will be on September 9th.

Matches

The Winter matches will start on the weekend of September 27th. The fixture list will be e-mailed around to all those members on e-mail. If any other members wish to receive this list, please send your e-mail address to either David Dudley-Ward or Judith Moore.

The final results list from the Summer Fixtures will be displayed on the Notice Board when it has been received.

Tournaments

The Closed tournament is progressing with the Finals being held on September 13th from 12.30. Please see the Notice Board for the schedule.

The draw for the Veterans' Tournament is now up and the Finals are on October 18th.

Photos from the Handicap Tournament have been put up in the Clubhouse.

AGM

The AGM will take place on Friday October 17th at 7.45 pm and will be followed by cheese and wine.

All the Committee positions are available to any members who wish to put their names forward. If you are interested, it would probably be of help to you to talk to the person who currently performs that role to find out exactly what it entails.

In particular, applications are invited for the position of Chairperson. Please talk to Ann Holloway about this role and see what you could bring to it. There are many new members at present so please would you all think about taking on this position.

The unaudited Club accounts will be displayed on the Notice Board prior to the meeting.

The Agenda will be displayed from September 19th and any nominated items for the AGM should be sent to the Secretary (Paul Shakespeare) by October 3rd for inclusion on the Agenda.

Sympathy

The members of the Club wish to extend their condolences to long standing member, Dorothy Thompson, over the recent sad loss of her husband.

Also, the Club members wish Patrick Whale well in his recovery from his current health problems.
